Multi-Touch Interaction Research Video - Jefferson Y. Han, a consultant at the Media Research Laboratory of New York University, is working on touch-based interfaces. The video showreel shows a host of different applications. There are a number of gestures used - place two fingers on the screen and move them away from each other to zoom in, move them towards each other (can be done on one hand as a pinching movement) to zoom out. One day, names for these gestures will pass into our language in the way that ‘right-click’ is fairly widely used now.

The project’s main goal is to leverage a critical understanding of different visualization methods, across a series of disciplines, as diverse as Biology, Social Networks or the World Wide Web.”
